Globish

Do you know Globish?
Globish is a simplified version of English.
It uses only 1500 basic words and their derivatives.
(We can add some technical words if all of us understand and need them.)
It recommends keeping each sentence short, at most 15 words.
It doesn't use complicated grammar. For example, future perfect continuous.

Now, we cannot ignore foreigners in business, or even in ordinary life.
So we need to communicate with them.
English seems the strongest language in the world.
However, non-native English speakers feel that English is too difficult.

Then, we have Globish.
Globish is easier than English, but Globish is not improper English.
Globish is also correct English.
When I speak in Globish, every English speaker understands what I said.

The most important thing about Globish is its philosophy.
At first, if we can share our ideas, it is enough.
We don't need to speak so fluently.
In addition, if a listener can't understand you, it's YOUR responsibility.
Do not say "Oh, you didn't understand me! You have to study English more!
Instead, "OK, I don't mind. I will make it simple so that you can understand me."
Wonderful, isn't it?

Let's speak Globish if you are in a global communication.
In contrast, if all of you are native English speakers, you should speak in English.
English is more expressive than Globish.
Globish is mere a tool for global communication, among non-natives and natives or among non-natives.

This article is also written in Globish.

A derivative is a word formed from another.
For example: "basically" (from "basic") and "policeman" (from "police" and "man").
